Urban Legends Essay
Have you ever heard of a rumor that might be true or just made up? Like, have you ever heard of an urban legend ever? Well I am going to tell you what it truly means which are popular stories that are alleged to be true which spreads like a rumor which is like person to person by written communication. So we have all heard urban legends stories. Like about coca-cola, about pop rocks or either Ciara being born a male and not a female. See I have three interesting urban legends that I have found as well that I think I should share with you. Like have you heard of the youngest girl that gave birth was a 5 year old. Another, one is that turkey makes people really sleepy, and last but not least a south American camper was eaten by a anaconda snake.
First thing that I am going to tell you about is the 5 year old girl. Her name was Lina Medina and she was a 5 year old girl that was Peruvian, and she lived In a Andean village. Now, here the weird thing. Her parents thought that their daughter had a tumor but when they took lina to the doctor, that’s when they told the parents that she was pregnant. When she was three years old she was starting periods. Nobody knows who the father of the baby is since lina wasn’t able to talk at that time but she delivered the baby on May 20, 1939. When the son was at least 10 years old he thought that lina was his sister. Then he found out that she was his mother. Gerardo was the sons name and he died in 1979 and lina had another son the same year by her husband. So by this urban legend on snopes.com they say that this a true story.
The second thing that I am going to tell you about is turkey makes people sleepy. Like have you ever heard of a slogan saying “someone must have slipped them some turkey”. Well the reason why they have created that slogan is because they say that if you went to the restaurant called KFC, well if you think about it after you eat there chicken or something you atomically want to fall asleep. In the early 1980’s they had put L-trytophan to the public. It helped people with insomnia, appetite control, depression, premenstrual syndrome, stress reduction and etc…. but by 1989 they had a problem with the product and told everyone to stop using it. The L-Trytophan it caused major effects and like serious symptoms, like it had caught over 1,500 people and killed at least 37. So by eating a turkey leg or a part of a turkey then you have the symptoms of getting sleepy. Now you think this story is true, well your wrong its false ha-ha.
Final urban legend I am going to tell you about is about a southern camper that has been eaten by a anaconda. Now they were in south America of course and they say that it was a young camper that was eaten. We have pictures and everything to prove it by going to snopes.com. But do you know what even with the pictures it’s actually false. See what they did was they took pictures of a python snake, and what the snake had eaten was a pig because it is impossible to eat something as big as a human. And the second picture is a old photo of a guy laying and died in a jungle. So it is actually a false story with made up facts.
Now the legends of a 5 year old having a baby, why turkey makes people sleepy and also a anaconda ate a human is urban legends but are really false tales. Except for one that is true. Now the only thing is that nobody knows why the create these legends. Like they can be doing this because they are enjoying peoples reaction to the story or whatever else but just know that you will never know what they can write about next. IT MAYBE YOU HAHAHAHAH. Just kidding but that can happen if you start telling people information on stuff that you make up because anything can happen.

Violence of the Media
Example 1: Video Games is a example of how violence becomes more popular these days. Like, on the video games by like when you are beating your opponent then you encourage yourself to do better or to defeat them. Then, after you are done and you see how you feel afterwards by killing them, you feel good and confident. So when you come back to reality some people would take the video games into consideration and actually do violent things to people and expect the same things from the video games to happen.
Example 2: Movies is an example of how violence becomes very popular during these generations. Like, when you are watching a guy shooting a gun towards other people basically killing people then you think it's OK . Like little kids watch movies or shows that are showing that it is OK to fight people so they take that literally and actually use violence as an answer to everything .
Example 3: The Television channel news is also another way of how violence is occur in the world by telling people the violent incidents that are caused by violence. So when it is broadcast it makes people scared for there lives because they don't want to get shot or killed or anything else that's involve in those type of ideas. Some people are also encouraged by this and think it is cool so that how some of the same crimes are committed again .
